Church at the Mill Woodruff

Roebuck Buildings completed a large up-fit project for the Woodruff campus of long-time client Church at the Mill. The project created a kids and student ministry of secure classrooms and assembly areas from an aging shopping center space adjacent to the church's current sanctuary. Prior to renovation, we removed existing roofing materials and installed new insulation and a 60 mil PVC roof membrane along with new gutters, downspouts and edge trim. The interior of the space was demolished to concrete slab and metal roof deck, old HVAC units, ductwork and electrical were also removed. Concrete was sawcut and new underground plumbing was installed, as well as a new domestic water line from Cross Anchor Road. Two existing columns were removed and replaced by concealed columns, new rooftop HVAC units were added, and a new ductwork system was created. To ensure the old building was code compliant, new egress doors and a handicap ramp were installed, and an exterior fire line and additional fire hydrants were installed so the renovated portion of the building could have a fire protection system. A new exterior with metal fascia and metal soffit was installed on existing covered canopy along the front of the building, new exterior storefront doors and windows were added, and the exterior of the entire building was lime washed to update the exterior appearance. We also installed an underground storm drainage system in the rear of the building to control storm water.

The renovated Kid’s Area is approximately 12,000 sq ft and serves babies through 5th graders, and the 8,000 sq ft Student’s Area serves 6th through 12th grade students.
