Team Tuesday: Meet Phaly Kong, Receptionist Extraordinaire

Welcome to the first installment of Team Tuesday! Each week, we’re going to introduce you to the awesome people who make #BuildBetter possible.

Today, we’re introducing you to Phaly Kong, our receptionist. She’s a receptionist extraordinaire, administrative ally, and accounting assistant. If you’ve called or visited our office, you’ve met Phaly (pronounced “Polly”). She greets everyone with a smile and dispatches our calls, visitors, mail, and packages to the appropriate recipient. When she’s not in the office making sure everything runs smoothly, she’s partner to Savy Von, mom to Aden and Steven, and pet mom to one spoiled dog, a parakeet name Blue Blue, and a school of fish. She enjoys baking, gardening, reading, and avoiding stepping on tiny LEGOs.

We sat down with Phaly to ask her a few fun questions. Read on to find out about her favorite podcast, what she’s reading, and what goal she’s working on.What are you currently binge-watching? “Sunny Bunnies” on YouTube (I have two little boys) and “The Chefs’ Line” on Netflix. (Foreign reality TV shows are much nicer than their American counterparts.)

What is your favorite podcast? NPR’s “Wait Wait … Don’t Tell Me!”

What are you currently reading? Protect the Prince by Jennifer Estep (I like female protagonists that can kick a**!) and How to Stop Losing Your Sh*t with your Kids by Carla Naumburg.

What were your last three impulse purchases: A Fruit Infusion Pitcher, a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte & Ferrero Rocher (It was a stressful morning.  Coffee & chocolate made it better, which lead to purchase of the book above!)

What is one goal you’re currently working on? Becoming an ultimate outsider by visiting all 47 South Carolina state parks.
