Roebuck Buildings worked with Knight’s Apparel to create a brand new, expansive industrial facility for their operations. This Spartanburg-based company sells licensed sports apparel for the National Hockey League, as well as 400 colleges and universities around the nation, so it may come as no surprise that they needed a significant structure where they could store, pick, pack, and ship an enormous amount of freight.
For this design-build project, Roebuck Buildings worked alongside Jerry W. Rives Jr., AIA to create a sprawling 192,808-square-foot structure made from pre-engineered structural steel and precast concrete wall panels. The interior of the facility featured a 2,304-square-foot office, as well as a warehouse with 24-foot eave heights, 12 9’ X 10’ steel sectional doors, and two 14’ X 16’ drive-in steel sectional doors. To protect both the structure and its contents, Roebuck installed sprinkler systems which used a K-17 ESFR per NFPA 13. The facility also featured a 24-gauge standing seam roof to maximize longevity and minimize the potential for leaks.
